I am a Louisiana native who has traveled all over the United States, Mexico and Canada.. I have lived in the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. I am sixty-eight years old, a grandmother, growing old gracefully. I still write every day. I read my Bible for one hour a day and I am very well acquainted with God. I pray without ceasing but every afternoon instead of watching television I go into my secret closet and talk to the master. such a rewarding experience.
I am a widow who lives alone but has learned to deal with loneliness. I keep a busy schedule and I enjoy the things that I do. I am independant, leaning only on God for my survival.
I graduated from J. S. Clark High School in Opelousas, Louisiana, in 1963. From there I went to Epps Beauty School, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Then I owned and operated a beauty shop; Johnson's Beauty Shop, for two years. Then it was off to Southern University, Baton Rouge where my whole life changed. I later relocated to Detroit, Michigan. My husband was employed by General Motors I became a miserable General Motors homemaker.
Years went by as Itraveled to many strange places. I went to every place in my dreams then I returned to my native State, Louisiana. I survived divorce, lost custody of my children, remarriage to a loving man. After eighteen years, I survied the death of my second husband. I survived sickness, bi-polar disorder, diabetes, high blood pressure and I walked by faith.
Now I live in a peaceful, quiet village of Fenton, Louisiana, where I can read and write to my heart's content.
In 2009 I graduated from Boulden Seminary, UAME Church in Willimington, Deleware. I was blessed to have the learned Dr. Maurice H. Sykes for a pastor/teacher. My days are spent in the presence of God.
