Agree that, after writing nothing but instruction manuals, reports, SOP's and all the other boring things that go hand in hand with the working life, it is difficult to switch off. I did not start writing until 2009 but since then have fumbled through a fair bit. I joined a writers group when I retired and that is where I found encouragement.

Well what sort of clubs and groups do you find appealing? Who's friendly and could help with development of a writing style? What are some of the smaller but growing clubs?
