Illusion o'clock

Despite how time will fluctuate almost ethereally, time as a concept is something no one should expect or underestimate. Time is but an illusion to help events, most of which are out of control, make sense. Time as a concept is a scary thing because like most things we cannot control it as much as we try to, we can be quick, we can be slow, we can go at our own pace however time is not at our command.
We cannot simply turn the hands on our pocket watches, wrist watches, or clocks, we cannot simply move so quickly that time itself slows, we cannot sleep in bed as to fast travel to a new year, before time was invented as a concept by the universe, by science, by God or the gods themselves, we could not fathom how much time we had left or how much time we start with, the second we are conceived in the womb we are set on a timer for how long we can survive the womb, or even survive outside. We can go fast, we can go slow, we can go at our own pace, however time is not at our service.
As scary as it may seem how time cannot be clutched, we hide behind the illusion of buying time, we hide behind the illusion of time flying past, because we as a species cannot FATHOM how fast or slow time goes. We can be happy and time flies fast, but only because we cannot focus on time, we can feel anguish and time seems to slow but only because we focus on our sorrow to focus on anything other than the, feeling of endless dread and comedic sense of hatred we feel for others or ourselves that we fail to notice the time. We can go fast for the sake of pleasure, we can go slow because of our mourning, or we can go at our own pace due to the mundane repeat of day to day life, but time will be forever more, not in our grasp.
