Forgotten love~
You say you love me;
as I to you,
but as time carries on, this is no longer true.
If my love were an ocean,
you would see only the waves.
If my love were the sun,
you would see me shining each day.
You knew me better than I know myself,
you made me laugh and held my hand;
you placed me on a high pedestal,
yet no longer where I stand.
Now my love is still an ocean,
but it is barren and dry.
My love is still the sun,
but covered by ominous clouds in the sky.
Your eyes no longer shine
like the stars that used to glow.
You controlled me like a puppet;
You're the master, I'm the show.
I was blinded by love;
it pulled the wool over my eyes.
But my tears begin to fall
and I no longer believe your lies.
I felt crushed and betrayed;
this feeling tried to consume me,
As if you were hiding in my thoughts
Like the darkened sun and barren sea.
I wanted to change in the world somehow,
Impact one life, or even two;
You held me back,
But now I'm free and finally through with you.
