I've always found it a little odd writing about one's self. There's seldom a feeling stranger than having to come up with a way to make yourself sound interesting or compelling when all the material you have to work with is - by it's very nature - already commonplace to you, personally.

I apologize for drifting off with my thoughts and words. It tends to happen.

Really, I used to write a lot when I was younger. Creating worlds, building characters, imagining grand adventures (or even short little one-offs) in my mind was inevitably what I spent my time doing. A little homework here, an egregious amount of television there, and writing anywhere and everywhere in the middle. It was all eventually phased out of me by (surprise, surprise) schooling.

The entire idea of being forced to write about, or even argue about a cause you have no stake in was nothing short of a slap in the face for me. Homework and schoolwork pushed reading time right out of my life, and my pure disdain for scholastic writing prompts made me turn up my cartoonishly pointy nose at the very concept of writing for a number of years.

I realize only this far in that I've not even mustered the good grace of telling you my name.

It's a pleasure to meet you, faceless internet friends.

At heart, I'm still an avid writer. Neo-Noir being a specialty of mine, tossed in with a bit of Cyberpunk for flavour. Add in a sprinkle of ambition, and a dash of pretentiousness... and we've got a half-baked cooking metaphor.
