Mustafaa As-Salafi is the President of Level V (i.e. Five) Entertainment, Inc., dba Level V Publishing. He began publishing and writing books in 2004. Level V published Dangerously Insured by Shafeeq in 2005. Dangerously Insured will be released as an eBook in 2013. The first novel written in its entirety by Mustafaa is Family Tiez (ISBN: 978-0976224310; paperback). Family Tiez was published in 2007. It has sold 8,000 + copies, to date, in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Family Tiez is now available as an eBook everywhere eBooks are sold.
Level V Publishing's world came crashing in on July 23, 2008 when Federal authorities arrested Mustafaa for his role in an alleged drug conspiracy. Vowing to change his life, Mustafaa has put his life and his publishing company back in order. He is ardently working to transition his negative experiences into being a responsible citizen. He has developed a proposal for an intensive, residential program for at-risk youths named H.O.M.E. (Habilitate, Oriente, Mentor, and Educate). H.O.M.E. is designed to dissuade disadvantaged children from crime, gang violence, and terrorism. Mustafaa has slated 2.5% from Level V's net sales to be invested into developing and funding H.O.M.E.
Mustafaa's upcoming releases include: "Family Tiez II: Downward Departure" and "Actual Innocence." He is also revising Antonio Barnes's book; "Prison is Not a Playground" (Mr. Barnes is the original 'Bird' from the HBO hit-series "The Wire.")
