Racism is something ALL races can experience, whether you're white, black, asian, etc. It's an ugly thing and I feel like it's not talked about enough, especially when white people are the people on the receiving end of this hate. My sister had just experienced this today. One of her black friends had a birthday party today at a skating rink. My mom got directions and was taken to a skating rink that was shut down due to not passing inspection. She tried to call the little girl's mom and figured that it was just a misunderstanding. The girl's mom did not answer until my mom called from a different number. The woman finally answered and got mad at her for calling from a different number and starting bringing race into the conversation, huffing out the word "white people" as if it were an insult before hanging up and saying that the party was "canceled". They come home and my sister is crying because of what happened. My mom is livid.

Then, we find out from my sister that her and two other of her friends were the only white girls going to the party. The black girl handed all three white girls a different invitation Tuesday and said that she had accident given them the wrong address. Coincidence? I think not. Her mom must've found out that the three girls were white and changed the invitations before the weekend.

I hate assuming that people are racist, but this is not an assumption. This is just proof that some people are in fact racist and there will always be people that are hateful. Black people can be racist just as much as white people, along with anyone else for that matter. This post isn't to spread hate, but awareness. Please don't take it the wrong way. Hate is hate and it's an ugly thing.

Dear Pinterest,

When I search up an image of a character; stop giving me insanely oversaturated profile pictures with glares and effects that blind my eyes. A few filters is fine, but this is getting out of hand. I am at my wits end. This is my fifth reason.

          Yours truly,
          Ari.
