I've been writing and creating stories since I was in elementary school, though I didn't actually start writing consistently until about three years back. I write because I make worlds and stories and characters naturally. It's part of who I am. But I don't want all these characters and worlds to die with me in my head. If I make stories and characters, and they are good, then they deserve to be shared with the rest of the world.
Most of what I write will be some kind of Fantasy or Sci-fi with a focus on realistic and understandable characters. Besides writing, I have a passion for communication and that comes across in my writing. I want the character reactions to feel real, to some degree anyway. I know I'm still creating fantastical cultures and characters, and a fantasy culture can mean that someone behaves in a way that no individual in this world does. But all the same, I try to make the behavior understandable.
For where I'm at in my work so far? I have a few drafts lying around I might polish up and publish here if people want, but I also have the first book of an actual series that I am working on. I've had some of my peers do an edit on it, and after I apply those changes, I'm going to figure out what comes next. Maybe I'll post it here first and see what people think.
As for reading? Well, unfortunately I have a tendency to edit everything I read now, and that kinda takes the enjoyment out of it. You ever read part of a story and think "Man. This would have been so cool if they just did THIS!"? I do. But I know that the change is my own gosh darn opinion and the change that I want wouldn't necessarily make the story any better. All my brains editing does is make it hard to read things for enjoyment. Maybe I can practice editing and make a job of it.
Anywho! I hope you enjoy what I write and have a good day! If you don't like it, please don't torture yourself. I'm here to share and improve. I don't want to give anyone a bad time.
