Hi, long time no see...

I feel so so awful for disappearing off the face of the Earth and for ditching 'The Major and His Mate' for like 5 years I don't even know if anyone even still cares about it or will even read this post, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I went and saw Twilight in Concert today and it got me thinking about my story and how I still want to go back to writing it, but looking back over my work has made me realise how much my writing has improved over the years and how I really want to edit the whole thing before I continue with new chapters. However that would mean possible changes in plot and what is currently written for 'The Major and His Mate' would practically become an entirely 'improved' version of the story and I just don't know if people would be interested in me doing that.

I'm basically currently torn between wanting to continue writing it and hating what is already written from 5 years ago, or improving it from the very beginning and hoping that people will still want to read it and not hate the edits.

But yeah, just thought I'd announce my possible future return and hopefully get people's thoughts on what I should do with the story (if anyone is even still interested in it). Thanks to everyone who has read it and voted over the years despite it being SUPER incomplete, I appreciate you all.

You should totally start new with a story you can be truly proud of and then continue from there!

@MyNameIsHolly0608 Your welcome, I just want to make sure you're doing good, do not stress, or pressure yourself, i'm sure anyone with a true eye for writing or reading will appreciate your ideas and complex twists and turns in the book. Just don't force yourself to finish the book, or re-edit, take it slow, enjoy it, think about, and really reflect on the characters, the plot, and the point of the book, as long as you enjoy it, then I will enjoy it, I don't want you sick, or brunt out, or even hating what you used to love, take it at your pace, because the slower you take it, the more valuable it is. I would rather savor a book that took years to write, then rush through a book, that was written halfheartedly and without a real plot, without real emotions, without a real vulnerable, passionate, author. If things get hard, look for inspriation, Pinterest, books, authors, things you like, people you love, inspiration will come and it will flood your head like a water fall, but don't force yourself to write, I don't care who comments they want a new chapter now, you take it at your pace, because your mental and emotional health are more important than an online book and at the end of the day we're all just people, perfectly imperfect, existing in the world. I love your book, I love your mind, and I generally care about your well being, if you need help, i'm always a message away, and I would be happy to help or encourage you. Just remember you are more important than this book is, take it at your pace, find your rhythm again, and write what you can when you can, sometimes that might look like shorter chapters, other times that might look like breaking up a chapter into several days, do what best fits you and your current journey. God bless you, you're amazing, and good luck.
