          “How can you do this, Maa?” Surya’s voice crashed like thunder, shaking the very stillness of the house. “She is Aditi’s best friend—almost ten years younger than me! How could you even think I would agree to this marriage? She is still a child herself—how can she handle my kids, my responsibilities, my life?”
          
          His words were fire, his anger relentless. Inside the room, aunty tried to calm him. Her voice, though soft, carried an unshakable firmness.
          
          “Surya…” she said gently, yet with a weight that made his fury falter for a moment. “You are judging without truly knowing her. She is a good woman, beta. A heart that always takes care of everyone around her. You don’t see her the way I do—you don’t know her proper way. If you ever did… if you gave yourself the chance to see her as she truly is, you would fall in love with her.”
          
          I pressed a trembling hand against my chest, her words piercing deeper than his anger. She saw me. She believed in me. But he—he laughed bitterly, his tone cutting.
