Hey, Miraculers!
So apparently we all thought that Hawkmoth is Gabriel Agreste right?
Unfortunately, or fortunately however way you put it, our theory was wrong. Why?
1. During transformation sequences, such as Ladybug and Chat Noir's, the character's skull, height, not any other physical appearance changed between them except for their outfit and they wear a mask. Recently, the creators of miraculous ladybug posted a picture with all the height of every character. In that picture, we could see that Hawkmoth and Gabriel's height are both different. Therefore, there's no way it could be Gabriel.
2. The creators also mentioned that each transformation sequence take 16 seconds to happen. Well we could see that after about 18 seconds within an episode, Hawkmoth all of a sudden akumatize the villains. How does this prove that Gabriel isn't Hawkmoth? Hawkmoth would have approximately 16 seconds to transform, get to his defined hiding place, AND send the akuma which makes no sense if Gabriel was Hawkmoth.
3. Not to mention, in the episode "Simon Says", Gabriel got interested and slightly suspicious about Adrien's ring and Marinette's earrings. I suspect that he knows a lot about the miraculous since he studied them because he had the miraculous book. If Gabriel was Hawkmoth and he was aware that Adrien and Marinette both hold the two most powerful miraculouses, why would he let them slip away so easily?
There are like so many more facts to support this theory of why Hawkmoth is not Gabriel but I don't want to list them all here. All these facts I discovered were not my research. An amazing girl on YouTube (I don't remember her YouTube channel gah!) did a couple videos on miraculous theories that will seriously blow your minds. I suggest you go check them out! Just search up "miraculous ladybug theory" on YouTube and her videos will show up first.
