Pray, let me unfold to thee the greatest tale of love ever told.

Behold the Sun-proud sovereign of the burning firmament-
who loved the Moon with such furious devotion
that each night he cast himself upon the abyss,
falling to a fiery death so she might draw her fragile breath unhindered.
And she, fair queen of twilight's realm,
shrouded her glowing soul in deepest black,
that all creation might behold his dawning glory,
a radiance no darkness could ever hope to chain.

Yet witness, too, the Shore and the unquiet Sea-
Two lovers bound by a fate more cruel than prophecy.
Forever torn apart, forever yearning,
They wage a ceaseless war of love and ruin.
The waves, maddened by longing, hurl themselves again and yet again upon the waiting land,
while the Shore, bruised and battered by each anguished embrace,
endures the Sea's wrath as though each violent strike were a desperate plea:
"Return to me, though we are doomed."
