Honestly if you think you have a chance at winning holding off on publishing may not affect you too much. Unless it’s something you really can’t wait for. If you win, adding that to your blurb or achievements on Amazon may even help you sell.
If you submit the story and you are shortlisted your story will need to be exclusive to wattpad for the duration they tell you. If you win you will need to be exclusive to wattpad for at least one year. That includes self publishing on Amazon. So if you’re shortlisted you can’t self publish until they tell you (usually just for the duration of the listing or so) and if you win you can’t self publish until after a year.

Here’s one thing I figured out about myself: I don’t know how to write light-hearted fluff. Sad, gut-wrenching stories run deep in my veins, and I’m contemplating just sticking to them.
Writing Cuspid Cupid is supposed to be easy because it’s straight fluff and no plot, but it’s testing me. I love trauma. I love bittersweet. I love a good cry. What do I do????? *Sobs dramatically*
