It’s because dabi means cremation so people have been unofficially calling it that. And his quirk is literally just an even more powerful version of Endeavor’s, it makes it easier for him to make blue flames.

@Aj0rtiz5 maybe since it can turn people to ashes, when people pass away irl sometimes the family will burn their body to ashes aka cremating. So maybe it's called cremation because he can burn people to ashes. That's just what I know tho i dont think its official
