i need tips on how yall plan your fics. specifically tv/movie fics because i’ve totally lost my touch and im struggling so bad even though i have so many ideas UGHHH

simple version: pull up the episode summary on  the respective wiki/fandom site and write re-write it with your OC in mind (not necessarily all of it, but the scenes you’d want your OC to be in)
          	  
          	  insane version (preferred method for overthinkers): find a beat sheet you like/story structure and use it to help guide the narrative around your OC rather than jamming your OC into it. giving them a storyline of their own outside of a relationship helps flesh them out even if it’s something like they want to go to a certain college. i’m a big fan of K.M. Weiland and her site helpingwritersbecomeauthors . the story structure guide, even if you just figure out a characters want/lie/need and nothing else helped me immensely in knowing my character and where i wanted their story to go

          - rafe cameron x unnamed oc (zendaya fc): rafe cameron x cocky kook princess, fwd, cheating, bonnie & clyde
          - cole walter x vanessa young: footballer x cheerleader, second chance, best friends brother, annoyance to lovers
          - kendall knight x georgia nichols: annoyance to lovers, slow burn, songwriting prodigy, found family
          - peter parker x riley jones-watson: best friends to lovers, secret identity, oc hates spider-man, annoyance to lovers
