Hello everyone! I’m currently on vacation in Mexico so I’m seeing the Wattpad Next beta. If you’ve heard of this new program, what do you think about it? I like the idea of supporting authors I read (and maybe someday getting support if my future readers feel like giving it), but I dislike how Wattpad is getting more and more monetized. (I can explain the program if you haven’t heard of it).
Guys oh mah gods does anyone ever have it happen that you’re trying to do something productive but one of your characters is in your head and just won’t shut up? Like I’m here trying to do homework and a char of mine is in my head complaining about kitchens. And he wants me to write it down. Like what. Ok ok finance meetings about kitchens, but still. Kitchens.
Also, I would just like to say it may seem like I have given up on my books, but I haven’t. I’m working on them, I work on them most days now and I spent basically the entire summer working on them. The re-write is so far going well I’m just not yet comfortable enough with it to start posting chapters. But when I do start posting, I really hope there’s still some people around to read, I feel like anyone who was has probably moved on at this point...
Wooo! I think I’ve now finished updating my library and reading lists to what I’m actually currently reading. Minus the finished reading list but that’s not terribly important to me, and I don’t feel like going through my archive to add stuff I missed. But I did it! Finally got rid of all the billions vamp slave stories I added way back when I made this account in middle school.
Wattpad has done something to the notifications...I can’t understand what exactly but...I don’t think I like it...
So I have a question. I’m doing the Hecate’s Daughters re-write and even though I told myself I’d get through the whole thing before making any stylistic changes I’ve already changed the tense like twice (which was painful >_<) and now I’ve got the idea in my head to change it from first person to deep POV, which if I’m not mistaken is third person limited? The second book is all in deep POV and I really enjoyed writing it that way (it opens up so many doors), but having just re-written the first HD chapter in deep POV...I can’t stand it. It feels so wrong. First person is limiting in some places sure, but in others it’s better than other POVs. So my question: Is it...mhmm I guess I’m wondering if it’s unprofessional to have the books be written in different POVs because i am re writing the first one so I could edit it so they’re both in the same type of POV. I don’t know maybe it just feels wrong because it didn’t start out that way but...Well, thoughts?
