Watching Merlin and I think in like the third episode, Mark of Nimueh, when Gwen is accused of sorcery and Merlin tries to save her, Morgana says ‘That’s because you’re not like Merlin.’ Then says something similar to ‘he would give his life for the one he loves.’ TO ARTHUR. Then Arthur replies with something like this ‘Perhaps I haven’t found the one I love then.’ Then in Episode 4 (SEASON 1 BTW. LITERALLY THE NEXT EPISODE.) Arthur proceeds to go on a quest for that flower I don’t know the name of, WHICH IS IN A DARK FOREST, GUARDED BY A DEADLY MAGICAL CREATURE, all so that he can GET THE ANTIDOTE FOR MERLIN. RISKING HIS LIFE. WHERE HE ACTUALLY ALMOST DIES. ‘Perhaps I haven’t found the one I love.’ Perhaps you just haven’t realized you found him.

@23nely REAL SHIT DAWG like alright ALRIGHT And Merlin didn’t even KNOW about it until Arthur was in danger because he literally drank POISON for Arthur and was out for like a few days, only gaining consciousness to HELP ARTHUR WITH HIS MAGIC WHEN HE ALMOST DIED. Their souls are so intertwined that they can literally SENSE when the other is in danger. Alright doomed love trope ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I GET IT STOP HITTING ME IN THE FUCKING HEART ALRIGJT

People are like ‘everyone would give Arthur a shovel talk!!! Everyone loves Merlin and don’t want him harmed!!! If Arthur breaks his heart we riot!!!’ But I feel like the people closest to Arthur (aka Morgana, Uther, Leon, etc) would actually threaten Merlin. Because imagine. This is Arthur. Arthur, who has never TRULY been in love. Arthur, who has a secret delicate heart, who is becoming a better man, who depends on Merlin like he’s never done with anyone before. Who’s allowed Merlin to burst into his thick walls of isolation and depends on Merlin for matters of the heart and mind. They’ve never seen Arthur as happy as he is when he’s with Merlin. In fact, he actually becomes a little mess when Merlin is actually gone. Can you imagine that? You’ve seen this man grow up, who’s only got his (VERY emotionally closed off) father and Morgana really to depend on. Then this little farmer boy shows up and Arthur is having more fun than he’s ever had, just because Merlin doesn’t see social restrictions. If I saw Arthur become a mess when his friend is missing and I know who exactly Arthur is, I’d probably tell Merlin not to hurt him. Because if Arthur gets hurt, he’d never show that side of him again. And I’d want to see my ruler be happy and have fun with his friend, just to know that he’s a person too. I don’t know how to say it. But that’s my thoughts, ya feel?

Watching Merlin again because I haven’t watched for a few years and why are they so ready to die for each other on the FOURTH EPISODE. They’re taking this destiny business to the GRAVE it’s like both of them are like equally protective of each other in different ways what the hell. ‘I cannot watch him die father!’ Then goes on a quest HE ALMOST DIES ON just for an antidote for Merlin. I just KNOW everyone’s sick of them

Normally the ‘miscommunication’ tag means like something happened and ended making characters break away, but in most of the Bagginshield fics I’ve read, it’s like ‘BOOM they proposed to each other on accident and the other accepted and later when the other finds out they’ve been ‘courting’ they panic but go like ‘HAHA I think you misunderstood my gesture but I wouldn’t be opposed!!!’ And then they get married!!!!’
