Nan Carder was a military brat until the age of 13, when her father retired from the Navy in Fallon, Nevada. After retirement, her father introduced the family to ranching, where he became a foreman. Always having a love for horses, especially the Mustang, Nan enjoyed riding and working when she could next to her father while she grew up.

Unlike her character, Kennedy Blaze, she traveled after graduating high school all over the US experiencing and meeting different people and enjoying learning different ways of life. She has finally settled down in North Carolina.  Feeling the urge to share her stories of her travels with the world, Nevada Free is just one of many novels we will see from this author.
