Alright, it time for another rant of mine! Hooray lol

I just had the silliest conversation with an author whose book was written in a language I couldn't read. It was so funny and stupid at the same time! She kept pushing me to read it but what she truly meant was VOTE!

          *sighs*

How can I read when I don't even speak your language? All she wanted was the votes! So pitiful. I'm sorry but I'm not going to vote on something I can't understand. Unlike others, I respect writing AND writers so I give my HONEST feedback.

Votes are underrated everyone, they're faceless and offer nothing to your novel. Okay, for those grimacing, they can help a tiny bit, but do you know what brings more attention to your work? READS, COMMENTS AND IN GENERAL, CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. That's what helps you become better and promotes your work!

That's it. Sorry if it sounds too harsh but it's the truth! Brains are everything.

@FloraLmp Yes and sadly there are so many people who prefer to 'fake-read' rather than pay attention to your work. I see no point in writing books that way, and I agree with you completely.

@SouthernDreamerXO I couldn't have agreed more. I feel you and totally sympathize.

I know exactly what you mean. And one time I was sort of bullied into doing a vote4vote thing, thinking they meant read mine and vote/comment and they would do the same for mine. That particular person was irritated when I didn't vote three other books on their pages one after another. I like to read first and vote on it after. And voting to me is genuine, along with making a comment here and there. Some people get upset when they don't see any reads or most of the time votes on their work. For me, I am just thankful for having at least one read under my chapter/s. Votes I appreciate, comments with honest feedback mean the world to me, and having people read what I've written is my goal. Sharing it more than reaping the rewards. I will say, I do get happier when seeing someone votes as well letting me know if they liked what they read. I've never done that VFV thing again, and never will. I didn't realize then what it entails: just voting and not actually reading.
