Good morning Wattpadders,

I messaged you all a few months ago to let you know that my Watty Award winning books will be leaving Wattpad at the end of March 2025. I will leave the first three chapters live but the rest will then be available for FREE on Kindle Unlimited as well as in eBook format from Amazon and paperback direct from me at https://kofi-com/neiljhart/shop (where you'll get loads of FREE book swag) or on Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and at your local library.

I hope you have a super weekend finishing 'The Last Scarecrow' or 'Sadie Madison' if you're halfway through and thank you for the amazing support I've had on these books for the last four years. The Wattpad community has been amazing.

@Romizabooks Same level as now. I haven't posted much on here since 2022 as my books are off living in the 3D world!

@Romizabooks My books range from 65-100k words so it really depends on the genre and the requirements of the story!

For a debut young adults author, how many words should we target? I have officially reached 50K.

On a side note, I just found out my novella version made it to round 3 of Ambys (the first 3 chapters were read for round 2 judging).

Hope your book fair tours are going well.
I was thinking about your novel Harper Hale. I really hope it reaches a big audience.

There’s been news this week of a British author (also Oxford professor), Katherine Rundell, going big. Her first book in the ‘Impossible Creatures’ series was published in 2023 and second book came out this year. She writes for middle grade audience and has been compared to author J.R.R. Tolkien.

Your novel Harper Hale has the potential to go big once people read it more. I hope you continue writing the rest of the books in the series. Sci-Fi is a hard genre to write, yet you have written a gem.

@Romizabooks Thanks for the message. Yeah, book tours and sales going good. Always excited to meet new readers and spread my stories far and wide. Hope all is well with you.

@Romizabooks I don't want viruses. Also, the chances of getting it removed or tiny so no point worrying about it.

Hello author!!
          Hope you are doing fine?
Just wanted to say I’m a new author and I’m writing a book. I know I’m not supposed to be saying this here, but could you please help me check out my book, it’s my first. I would love to receive feedbacks from you. Thank you.

Just a thought!

I’ve noticed that some authors with novel series have websites that dive further into the world of their novels.

          J. K. Rowling (Wizarding World): https://www.harrypotter.com/

          Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson): https://www.readriordan.com/

Since you have a website of your own, wouldn’t it be better to post anything related to Harper Hale on the website instead of emailing people? I understand that the whole idea is a bit too early as only the first book in the saga has come out. Maybe it can be something to think about for the future.

I hope people are enjoying Harper Hale as much as I have. Can’t wait for the second book in the saga.

@Romizabooks Yes, I plan to have more information on my website once there are more books in each series. Website traffic is low at the moment so the best way for people to hear the latest news and book releases is on email or social media.

My review on goodreads

From the two times Wattys Award winner (2021 & 2022) Neil J Hart, comes his latest novel Harper Hale and the Crystal of Shadows.

Harper Hale, know as Chalk by her friends, is an ordinary human. When chance comes in her favour, she is selected to attend the most prestigious school in the SpiralVerse (human term- Milky Way)- the Galactic Institute.

Join Chalk as she meets different alien species at school, makes friends, a few enemies, attends classes (not your usual subjects studied at school), travels the SpiralVerse and tries to save the galaxy all while trying to fit in at school as the first human to attend the Galactic Institute.

This novel is a page turner, that will make you smile with every word you read. Be prepared to feel all your emotions as you go on an adventure with Chalk.

Harper Hale is the sci-fi book I've always been looking for.

If you enjoy young adults novels like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, then Harper Hale is a must read. This is a novel for all ages. A sci-fi novel unlike anything you have ever read.

Eczema and the smell of yuccagourd doesn’t stop Chalk from living her best life.

@Neiljhart
You write about a future that is near our reach, a future I wish to live in. We as a human are forgetting about the progress we have so far. We need to appreciate the past to move forward into the future.
I was born when the internet came out to the public in the UK. My dad talks about using the internet at university to do research.
My parents lived through history - the moon landing. They talk about it.
Yesterday I found out my great grandfather (maternal grandmother’s father) worked in Kolkata, India. I’ve never been to India, neither has my parents.

Southampton, been back twice to visit, first time a month before I turned 18 and second time half way through university.
Eczema is definitely the worst, especially the cold weather aggravates it.

@Romizabooks Wow. That is a lot of similarities. Glad Chalk/Harper resonated with you. Which part of England were you born in? Also, eczema is the worst.

I had totally forgotten about human telekinesis. I remember seeing a documentary on telekinesis as a child. I attempted to learn telekinesis through youtube videos, never accomplished the ability.
