I retired from teaching after 30 plus years. My wife Lydia and I travel a lot, especially to Europe. We both have dual American-Maltese citizenship.
I dabble at writing, however, on my more creative days I refer to myself as a dilettante. I consider myself a science fiction writer, and I'm somewhat of a purist/snob as to what I consider sci-fi. For me, to be science fiction, the science in the story must be so important that the story would collapse without it.
I also find I write a lot of quasi-religious stories that many people will find blasphemous. Oh well, if I can't get readers to say, "WOW" after reading a story, at least I can get them to sputter and fume.
