Hello, everyone!

I am temporarily back and ready to write more poetry and short story/stories. The poems and short story/stories will be separate collections (if I decide to continue with stories and not just poetry).

Thanks to my Creative Writing class, I get to post more poems in “Nevermore”!

If you are currently a poet, or practicing poetry, I recommend getting this book that I had to get for college: Poetry A Writer’s Guide and Anthology by Amorak Huey and W. Todd Kaneko.

An example that is in the book (Chapter Three, Talent):

Talent is the capability for hard work

Talent is the ability to muster courage (being vulnerable to the world and allowing that to appear on page).

Talent is the ability to accept doubt (questioning if you are a good poet and how it’s okay to doubt things like that).

‼️ <—- I put that there because this is I M P O R T A N T! Talent is refusal to wait for inspiration (talks about how a poet should not wait for inspiration, and instead go outside and look around for it).

This is a fine textbook indeed! It gives poets tips and tricks to be a successful writer!

Wowie! It’s been a long time since I’ve been on this account!

Howdy, my name’s Alaina. Alaina the German Major!

All Undertale jokes aside: I’m back!

As you may know I went on a long hiatus. I thought I was not a great writer, I was in relationships that did not turn out well, and basically got sucked into college life.

As you all may have noticed: I deleted my old stories. I wanted a do-over, write something that would not represent the me from high school. I thought, in honesty, my stories were terrible. I kept comparing myself to other writers, I was depressed from losing friends, and I didn’t have the energy to write. Then I had a house fire and things just seemed worse from there.

I wanted to make an announcement that I am making more stories, but not a ton at a time.

There are two that I am writing currently: Wonderland/Wunderland, and Looking Glass/Spiegel. Wonderland is going to be the first book in the series, then Looking Glass follows. It is based off Alice in Wonderland and The Looking Glass, but it’s not going to be the Wonderland we all know and love. It’s going to be a mature story, so keep on the look out for it!

The other thing I want to publish are all of my poems. I have poems I have written during my time in college. I also have my old poems from tenth grade.

I just wanted to let everyone know I was back and I’m ready to write again!

The two books will be written in German, with little German I know, and English. So, please bear with me!
