I recently discovered that my Wattpad stories have been copied to a website called TeenFic, and unfortunately, I’m not the only writer affected.
TeenFic appears to mirror Wattpad accounts, using the same usernames and copying the stories from them. It doesn’t seem to be limited to old stories either. Updates, edits, and even newly published stories can appear there as well. I even added a warning to my chapters on Wattpad, and because the site mirrors the content, that warning appeared on TeenFic too.
I’ve been filing DMCA complaints for the past three days with Cloudflare and Porkbun, their hosting provider and domain registrar. I’ve also reported the URLs to Google, but there is an important distinction: Google can remove the stolen URLs from its search results, but that does not remove the stories from TeenFic itself.
Unfortunately, yesterday I saw many other Wattpad stories I recognize on the site, so this is clearly affecting more writers than just me. I honestly don’t know how to tell them. I hate being the person who has to bring others bad news and potentially ruin their day.
If you are a writer on Wattpad, please be aware that your work may already be mirrored there. If you decide to check, please be extremely careful and do not click on any links or advertisements on the site.
I’m sharing this so other writers can be aware of what is happening and take whatever steps they feel are appropriate to protect their work.

@NermeinElkurdi Agreed. You are too sweet. Thank you.

@NermeinElkurdi Not sure, it makes sense, but I would not want to do that because I've already submitted for the Wattys and Ambys. I suppose this is always a risk we will face.

@NermeinElkurdi frustrating

@NermeinElkurdi Thank friend. And yes so many of them found their work there. It's sad but thank YOU for warning us.

@NermeinElkurdi so sosstu friend. I haven't filled in the forms yet. I'm doing them today. My daughter was in a mood yesterday. It was a little crazy.

@NermeinElkurdi how do they even copy it? Wattpad doesn't allow me to copy my own comments from the comment section and these devious people copy entire books. Ridiculous.

@NermeinElkurdi It is very annoying. When I find that happening I usually just go follow the person again.
