Anyone know of a good Eowyn/Faramir fanfiction?

Just watched Return of the King and I need one stat

PilindielTheElf

There’s one on Ao3 called A Farewell to Arms (that I admit, I have never finished) by MorwenSteelsheen that’s pretty good.

          Book recommendation!!

You all know I rarely use Wattpad to recommend books, but man you all have got to read this one if you haven’t already:

‘Project Hail Mary’ by Andy Weir.

I finished this one in *two days* (which is saying something, considering my busy schedule). Easily the best book I’ve read in 2024 so far.

          * Without getting into spoiler territory, the book is about a man who wakes up—all alone—on a space ship. With no memory of how he got there. *

I know, I know, amnesia plot lines are *big sigh* BUT literally this book is so good. SO good. Please. Go read it.

If you loved ‘The Martian’ (also by Weir), then you’ll love this one (and if you haven’t seen the movie for ‘The Martian,’ you’ve got to see it). For the science nerds out there, all the science in this book is real or at least very plausible (Weir uses renown scientists and NASA experts to review his books/science/math). If you’re not a science fiction fan, give this one a shot. If science isn’t your thing, then at least you’ll love the humor. I have a feeling this book will become a classic in the genre.

The audiobook was also the BEST audiobook performance I’ve ever listened to; I highly recommend it. Also!! The book will be getting a movie adaptation starring Ryan Gosling! Super exciting.

I can’t say much more without spoilers. This book is so easy to ruin. I can’t even say what I loved most about it. Don’t even look at the back of the book/cover or read the description. Go into it with the knowledge I’ve given you.

          And here’s an excerpt:
          https://www.bookbrowse.com/excerpts/index.cfm/book_number/4288/project-hail-mary

And now I’m going to be late for work because I got so excited about telling you all the book is that good.

I know I said I was waiting til New Dawn was finished to update but... I wanted to give you all something. So Chapter 37 has been uploaded! It has one of my favorite Legornel scenes For those reading it, let me know what you think! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

A question for my fellow writers: how do you organize your stories (characters, plot, ideas, etc) and keep things straight?

For example I just learned some writers use Obsidian or Airtable. Currently, I’m simply using Google docs as a “roadmap” with a timeline, idea space, and list of characters. But I might need something different for New Dawn lol… or maybe not . What sort of tools do you use?

And maybe I should write a book here on wattpad where writers share their ideas and methods?? Hmmm

@Silmarilz1701 @PilindielTheElf thank you! Seems like I pretty much do the same, minus a few things lol

@NethEllethTeithant Basically the same as Silz. I have one big document with different sections for brainstorming, a timeline, a more detailed outline, characters, etc. And when I'm reworking stuff to the point of changing majority of the story, I would just start a new section and number them. If it's an important section that needs to be referenced often, I may just copy and paste it into its own document.

@NethEllethTeithant usually just break it up into sections with headers for navigation. In that, I pink to my Pinterest boards, playlists, etc. For timelines I just wrote it out like bullet points. Etc etc

Does anyone know of flash-fiction/short story books/collections here on Wattpad? I'm thinking of starting one of my own but I would like to see how others format theirs.

I really appreciate any help you can provide!

Maybe try one shots/imagines. That’s how I started mine

Hey! I loved your Legolas's story, I'd like to read a Legolas and Tauriel story written by you If you ever decide to make one someday

NethEllethTeithant

@NandaFefeS Thank you for the compliment and for reading my story! I'm glad I created something you can enjoy! Unfortunately, I'm not a Tauriel/Legolas shipper so I won't have the motivation to create something like that. However... there is ONE Legolas/Tauriel story I like and it's over on Monster Cupcake's profile. I can't remember which story it's in. 'Maybe Fading Light'?

Keep an eye out for a short story in the coming weeks! I wrote this little tale, just shy of 6,000 words, for my creative writing class (and am currently waiting on it to get graded so I can share it here). I had so much fun developing the world as I wrote, especially creating the outlandish names for one of the characters and his father. I'm fairly proud of it so it would make me happy if you gave it a read!

For now, feel free to add it to your library so you are notified when the story is published.

Just spent an hour translating "may you have sweet dreams" into Sindarin elvish lol

          "Nai savog elei velui"

          "Nigh sah-vohg ehl-ay veh-lee"

The use of "savog" for "you have" may or may not be correct but I think that's as close as l'm getting unless anyone else has any insights.
