          Tension in the air had spiked tremendously, but unfortunately, for the other hunters who were swiftly approaching the scene now... they were far too late to the party.
          
          The creature hummed softly as it licked a smear of blood from its face. Slowly, like there was no rush at all, it stood up, keeping its back towards the hunters who were just now arriving at the scene. The group of hunters failed to notice their comrade lying in the mud due to the thick fog that had engulfed the forest.
          
          "Hey!" One of the hunters called out to the figure in front of them.
          
          A quiet, sinister chuckle left the creature as it started to speak. "You're far too late to save your little friends..." It paused for a brief moment, letting the words sink in. "I admired the fight that they didn't put up... "
          
          It grinned, still facing away from the new group. "So many weapons, yet no fight? Do you not take your 'jobs' seriously?" It went quiet again, a new, taunting thought coming to mind. "Or... are you too scared to hunt what you do not understand, so you throw such low-ranked hunters at me and expect a result that isn't their demise?"
          
          The silence that followed was deafening, the creature's words sat heavy in the hunter's chests.
          
          They all knew what It said was some-what true, but the low-ranked hunters were sent for a different reason entirely...
          
          After another few minutes of uncomfortable silence, It deliberately turned around to finally face the group of slightly higher-ranked hunters. It's not like It couldn't deal with them if it came to that.
