On this day, four years ago, I wrote Episode 21 and finished Elemental Drifters: First Stage. Completing my first ever original book on this account.

Coincidentally, I decided to come back and revisit that final battle that ended the book just because I got the urge from watching a Initial D referenced video on YouTube.

And then it clicked on me that today was the day I wrote those exact words four years ago.

I'm sorry, Coincidence? I think not.

Its been a long journey, but I'm not backing out yet.

@mike3kjr u can try my bro Project Velocity with his cyperpunk inspired racing book Asphalt Knight. Den1212's Initial D Fanfics are also a pleasant read. He also posted his latest one yet in Fanfiction.net called "My Turn" with an alt acc. Check it out

Didn't expect there's someone who write Racing Story in Wattpad, interesting story thou. You should continue it, maybe try 90s era racing but that's my suggestion. Sorry for my english because i'm Indonesian.

NgJLiang

Thx for the support, there's actually an ongoing reboot that I publish which you should check out. And I think 90 era of racing is overrated and too mainstream lately. Trust me, I've been writing racing books here for 4 years. I wanna start something fresher and more creative. Hence the modern times

Imagine stating to put "offensive" comments under review for years and not do anything. Then continue to milk money through ads with still an unproper system from 2019

@NgJLiang But yeah tbh, all of Joel's scenes, the Loli stuff, and all of the third book are not good

This would be my ranking for The Initial D Stages:

          1. Fourth Stage 10/10 A+
          2. First Stage 9.5/10 A
          3. Fifth Stage 8.5/10 A-
          4. Second Stage 8/10 B+
          5. Third Stage 7/10 B-
          6. Final Stage 5.5/10 C

Final stage was a let down to me

@NgJLiang
I was that surprised they dragged the race between Takumi and Shinji for 4 episodes. The race was decent but the end of the race was so cliche with the Trueno’s engine exploding again

NgJLiang

@Batmandude18 yeah well, the ending certainly could have much much better alternative to it

That’s why I was disappointed with the final stage. I expected these things to happen

            1. Keisuke reuniting with Kyoko

            2. Takumi and Bunta racing and Takumi eventually beats him

            3. And also Takumi and Keisuke having one more race since they still had tension towards eachother when they were still a team

Instead we got a mediocre finale that ends with a GT86 product placement

This past few days had been a challenge for me. I'm in the position where I have the choice to push on with Elemental Drifters into the unknown with downhill progression or to start from scratch with a fresh new idea on First Stage that will refresh the Elemental genre more than ever side by side with racing. I've realized that over the past years, The Elemental Drifters has slowly drifted (literally) from it's mysterious extraterritorial feels into yet another Initial D/Fast and the Furious clone.

It was not the point. That was not the true idea of The Elemental Drifters. The true idea was to bridge the gap between the mysterious fantasy anime like tropes of Elementals and combine it with the awesome, action packed and exhilarating illegal racing/ underground car culture tropes of Initial D and the first three Fast and Furious films.

I had this idea to attract readers of the book's original idea and yet also get some invested into the car culture scenes which are dying today. This book was also aimed to kick popular car media shows out there in the butt for losing their authenticity in car culture to please the audience of non-car enthusiasts (heavy nods to the new Fast and Furious shows).

          (Continue from bottom)

(From top)

So yes, my reads and votes will be restarted but at this point I really don't care. Besides the fact that I'm heavily disappointed at the algorithm of Wattpad favoring romance stories, I have only viewed Wattpad as a stepping stone before writing professionally. This platform will only used as a submission to an official publisher in Japan to be animated into a watchable anime medium.

I'm grateful to finish two books for the last year years back in 2017 and 2018. But I will view them as a fun way of expressing my ideas to my car friends in wattpad and discord in the past. It's now time to move on into the future of The Elemental Drifters with a proper strong original idea and my writing into a professional stage.

So won't the sequels be affected you ask? Well that has been an ongoing ping pong match in my head for the past 7 hours so I'd decided to leave it at the side for now to focus on the rewrite. Although I may have plans for rewrites for them as well, it will not be to the extreme point of major chances compared to First Stage.

In conclusion, Third stage will be discontinued to make way for First Stage Remastered. And it seems that my expectation for the completion of this series will be push back a couple more years.

I like to thank @stmk2020 for the support and @ProjectVelocity for his heavily detailed idea on the major aspect of Elemental Drifters and his work which I highly recommend: Asphalt Knight: Ignition which is also a remastered version of his old book which inspired me.

          Other than that, PEACE!

@NgJLiang I am really glad to hear someone wants to break the crappy cycle of Wattpad's trash recommendation and try go above and beyond their own work. Massive pride from me bro.
