In 2019 I stumbled across a song called mean it on a random Spotify playlist. I clicked on. It and immediately loved it. The artist then released a song called stay which was my top song for about 2 months until she released her EP called minor.
This album helped me through a lot of things even at a young age. She then released a single and a new EP.
A bigger one called this is what it feels like. This album helped me through my anxiety and depression and will forever do so.
The artist released a few singles after that before releasing her first album. Good riddance. I feel like every fan of this artist is in love with this album. It makes us feel safe, seen and understood. It helped me through a really tough time when I wouldn't sleep, I wouldn't eat and I wouldn't even cry..I was numb.
She went on tour with Taylor swift and I was so proud. My small underground artist. Playing stadiums. The whispered songs on Instagram, Now shouted into crowds of thousands.
Then, she released the secret of us. With I love you I'm sorry being released, she went top of the charts. I was so so PROUD.
That album was the cherry on the top of helping my mental health and I will forever be thankful.
That artists name is Gracie Abrams. She was born on September 7th 1999. 26 years ago, the girl who saved my life was born. So this is a thank you to Gracie.
For everything.
