An epic werewolf classic! Adding Blood Moon by @HBFhelly to my B&G Favorites list! Blood Moon is a gorgeous book; a satisfying, delicious home cooked meal after months of takeout. This is not your typical “were”-story and it deserves to be voted up into the millions. The story is of a highly sought-after, “full blood” shewolf who flees an arranged mating with a cruel alpha and finds a home with (and mates)a rogue pack of brothers during her blood moon heat. It’s full of action, drama, lust, loyalty, love and fear as they all act to protect their pack; a pack that cannot seem to catch a break. The relationships between the brothers and with the main female lead, Leila, are complicated, nuanced and beautiful. Each character is well developed — you love them, root for them, get frustrated with them… They and their allies bear emotional and physical scars, loneliness, fatigue and a palatable longing to belong. And in the midst of their perilous environment, true love begins. The book is satisfyingly long, with multiple climaxes (plot-wise and other) culminating in a rip-the-throat-out confrontation. The author has recently posted 2 chapters so I expect she will finish it off soon. Bravo!
