Admin: I had the strangest dream last night. It was that Big Gay Al and Mr. Slave had officially adopted Heidi so Heidi was legally their daughter. It was honestly pretty adorable.

@jaeson_is_not_okay Admin: I'm not very good at writing characters like Big Gay Al or Mr. Slave, unfortunately.

Admin: Ok, this is something that might make people mad at me, but it's not my intention. Song Of The South is NIT the incredibly racist film people seem to think it is.

First of all, none of the black characters are slaves as the movie takes place after slavery. All of them are paid workers. Yes, the story may be a little saccharine for it's subject matter, but it's also a family movie. We can't show too much that would cause the rating to go up.

Second, James Baskett, the actor for Uncle Remus, has defended the film. If you don't know who he is, he's the first black man to win an Oscar. Baskett stated that "If I had for one moment considered any part of the picture degrading or harmful to my people I would not have appeared therein."

//fair enough. I agree that it's stupid, but I haven't even seen it tbh. But I've been reading about it recently and people thinking it's racist is just dumb.

@TweekTheTwink Admin: It's less about the change and more about the fact that one of my favorite classic Disney films keeps getting called racist.

//I totally agree...but I like PATF better as a movie, and I think it screams "Disney" more, so I'm not mad.
