Just so you know, I decided to start working on a sequel to "We're Not So Different." I really liked Y/N and Ob's story, and wondered how much would've changed for them in the years that followed.

So, the reason why Ob acts differently in this story is because there were events in between the first book and the second one that changed her. I've had an idea for a third book that will not only fill in a lot of plot holes, but also explore how Y/N and Ob met Jack's other alter egos and subsequently helped them with their own problems (such as Chase's problems with his wife, Stacy).
