Looking for a Translated Chinese BL Novel – Spy Reborn into Modern World
Hi everyone! I’m looking for a Chinese BL novel I once read on Wattpad (translated into English). I can’t remember the title, but I remember a lot of the plot details:
The main character’s name is Shen Ruoshan.
He was the only son in a powerful, aristocratic Chinese family during the time of Japan’s invasion of China (around the 1950s–1960s).
His family helped support the Chinese revolution and owned a well-known bank.
Shen Ruoshan became the head of the bank and secretly worked as a spy in Japan while managing a branch of the bank there.
He was mature, intelligent, calm, and secretly gay, but hid it due to the cultural stigma at the time.
After completing a successful mission, he wrote a heartfelt public closure letter to the newspaper and boarded a ship back to China—but the ship sank, and he died.
Then:
He woke up in the modern world, in the hospital, inside the body of a young, rich playboy from a collapsing business family.
The new body’s family was deeply in debt, and Shen Ruoshan became a secretary to the modern ML to pay it off.
The ML slowly realized how smart and capable Shen was, especially in finance and business, and grew interested in him.
There’s a moment when they have to deal with a bank that turns out to be the same bank Shen Ruoshan owned in the past, but now revived under someone else’s name.
