I'm looking back through the stories I took down so long ago. It's been years...
I started writing on Wattpad in 2012. My first story, Songbird of War, is responsible for my first 45 followers. It made it to the top of the New, General Fiction (mislabeled on my part, it should have been Fantasy all along), and Hot&Rising lists. It was a young story, filled with imperfection, but others on Wattpad gave it nothing but support. I had every reason to continue it.
I stopped writing Songbird in 2013 due to my insecurity, inexperience, and point-of-view revision issues. I haven't made changes to it since 2014.
My second story was Second Chance. After beginning revisions on Songbird, I decided I wanted a fresh start in 2014. It wasn't just a story about second chances. It was my second chance at writing.
Unfortunately, I had just taken on an increased academic workload that would persist for the next five years. For those five years, writing was never given a place in my list of priorities.
About two months after beginning my second story, I took down both Songbird and Chance. I haven't seen them since 2016. Today, I take a trip through my memories. I am reading my stories again.
The stories I have up now are the results of my occasional longing to return to writing. Silent Music has been the story I have held in my fantasies as being my third adventure into the world of writing, but I have lacked commitment.
In the past several years, I have taken to volunteering to edit stories on Wattpad. I've never been the best, but I have tried to help where I could, and I have done my best to grow alongside those I have worked with. I thank everyone that has given me a chance.
I wish to return to writing. While I still intend to accept occasional editing requests, I plan to dedicate more to writing once again. I don't know exactly in which direction I will walk, but I plan to begin moving forward. Thank you all for your support so far.
With high hopes for the future,
Niyeban
