I'm not a writer.

Well, at least I'm not a writer by profession or reputation or by any means would any of my high school English or literature teachers ever consider me a to have great potential as a .. writer.

But in a sense that is also not true as I make my living as (by day I am) a software engineer. So, in a way I do write for a living. I just don't write anything that most people want to read.

The Paul the Potato Detective series was born out of conversation with my kids joking about how we could write kids books and wouldn't it be funny if there was a potato that solved crimes. One that literally just sits still and doesn't move or talk or anything, but everyone around them thinks it does.

Then a few days later while bouncing around the internet looking for fan fiction for DDLC I came across Wattpad and thought, hey why not actually write that story about the potato. My kids have helped come up with some of the stories, locations and characters. And if you didn't already figure it out, they also have drawn many illustrations for the chapters.

As far as my own personal literary interests, habits and background, I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman, Carlton Mellick, Anne McCaffrey, Stephen Donaldson, Laurel Hamilton, Stanislaw Lem, Rin Chupeco, Anna-Marie McLemore, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Herman Hesse and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
