@NoNameHaver I might want to narrow this down a bit. In my story, when Kalin mentions that his people had attempted many rebellions in the past, he's indirectly referring to the Tatar Rebellion of the 1550's. It happened in the early years of Russia's rule over Tatarstan. Rebellions were also attempted by other ethnic groups, mainly the Bashkirs, who are close relatives of the Tatars.
