@Noahs-Ark valid take! TTPD and midnights (following folkmore!) was an insane 4 album run in the span of 4 years and i think esp TTPD specifically was hard to follow, so i can agree with that. If you thought eldest daughter was going to be more about like “sister mom” and serious female torment, same. And i was definitely disappointed that it was kind of just like “i get anxious and paranoid sometimes” (based on her explaining the song in the movie). I recently got into hayley williams, so if you havent yet, i recommend “kill me” from the ego death at a bachelorette party album, thats a lot more what i was expecting!

@glassarroww Hi :) I was actually happy with it only being 12 songs, I think TTPD could only work with 31. Ophelia will be one of her greatest hits. I think i dont like eldest daughter as much as I thought I would because it wasn't what I was expecting. I LOVE father figure. Literally inject it into my veins. Honey is the worst song, closely followed by ruin the friendship. Wish List is growing on me. Cancelled is a banger. Not a huge fan of Sabrina, so Showgirl to me is fine. I heard Opalite a few times on the radio so I'm enjoying it. I have feelings towards Wood, I truly think it's just a filler song.
            
            I personally think it's her weakest album, but maybe because it came after TTPD and Midnights, which, to me, are two of her best albums.

@Noahs-Ark hi we dont know each other and i just stumbled onto this and its been over 2 months, but i feel like sharing. My initial reaction was simply underwhelmed. Only 12 songs in contrast to the 31 we got last year, and starting off with (imo) the best song on the album, it very quickly went downhill after track one. After more listens, it all grew on me (except eldest daughter. I really dont like that song) and looking back 2 months later and having listened to a lot of other music since then i can take step back and recognize it is a good album. Just good. Not top 3 or even top 5 of her discography, honestly its probably closer to bottom 3, although her discog is hard for me to rank. But i think its good. I think there was a lot of bogus criticism and people just coming up with random things to complain about, but i cant fault people who dont like it because it really is one of her weaker projects. Fav songs are the fate of ophelia and father figure!
