On this very day — October 17, 2010 — exactly 10 years ago, I created this Wattpad account.
I didn't realize how long it's been since then, and it was completely by chance that I decided to pay a visit to my account today (of all days) and noticed the date I created it.
This account is a decade old.
I'm mindblown. So much has happened since then and a lot has changed, with the one major thing being that I haven't written in a very, very long time.
Maybe I should start writing again.
I guess one of the things that happens when you grow up is that the things you used to find joy in when you were younger are things you no longer do later on in life. And you don't even realize you've stopped until much, much later.
One day, you wake up and think, "I haven't written anything in years." It wasn't so much a conscious decision as it was a passion that I had to put in the backseat because of adult responsibilities.
Don't get me wrong. I still love writing. It's just that I haven't done it in a long while.
So perhaps I should write again.
And I hope that, if you're a writer too, you won't end up like me.
Keep the passion burning.
Or before you know it, ten years will have gone by without you having written anything.
So keep writing.
