          I also want to take a moment to apologize for the lax nature of my upload schedule. BSB Does not get a lot of traffic on this platform, and it's felt kind of unrewarding to continue to go through updating this version on time to please an algorithm that isn't netting me any new reads. 
          
          I write BSB for the simple reason that in order for an author to improve their skills they must be actively working on a project. This project is purely for my own practice and the expansion of my skills as a novelist in the pursuit of mainstream publication. Wattpad fame is not my goal, and as a result, the low amount of traffic doesn't impede my writing on the project whatsoever, but it does remove some degree of the urgency to keep this version of the story up to date.
          
          Anyhow, I fully plan on uploading the raw and revised versions of BSB to Wattpad with some degree of regularity. Having a deadline does still motivate my fingers to type on more days than less, and I refuse to be the kind of author who leaves his few fans hanging.

          Her words were cut off by a sudden and violent crash from a far room. The pair pushed into the hallway, where a plume of black smoke had filled the air. Without a second thought, Jax rushed into the rolling clouds. 
          
          The smoke was thick, unnatural, and every breath caused Jax to cough and hack even more than normal. He felt his way across the back of the couch and into the living area the smoke hadn't completely choked. He grabbed his weapon off of the table, pulled back the hammer, and levelled it at the cloud. --  
          
          The story continues with a sudden attack on our heroes! How will they escape the sudden appearance of the Fortunati?

          BSB is broken up into three parts, each structured with their own three acts like mini stories making up a larger one. The Google Docs master compilation version of this story features the part divisions so I wanted to bring those over into this version as well. 
          
          Unique to Wattpad is the short quotes I will include in these divider "chapters", as Wattpad requires that there be some text in a part before it can be published.

          I'm planning to have BSB's next chapter ready to post by this coming Sunday, and the teaser up by tomorrow evening.
          
          As the chaos with work continues, my writing time has somewhat become a sacrifice, but no matter how infrequent my updates become I do promise you that the show will go on!

Hello, would you be interested in a read for read?

Ahhh-HA! I'm alive! I promise. And I come bearing a new chapter!
          
          Sorry for the long silence. November was an exceedingly eventful month for me preparing for and participating in the Deep Stone Crypt Day-One competition (which we completed!) then Thanksgiving following that. Those events back-to-back threw off my normal release cycle, and now with Christmas nearly here and some changeups in the staffing at my work, I've had a lot less time to write (but I'm going to do my best to make due, and keep my schedule on track).
          
          I'm considering changing up the format of these part announcements as well, maybe including the most significant excerpt of the part that's being posted as a teaser. I know folks don't interact with these, or probably even read 'em, but hey. Never hurts to splash the pot sometimes.
