hii y'all! first off, happy new year! i know i'm late and have been inactive for a bit too now, but this is an important announcement so i'd really appreciate it if you could read it, especially if you're a participant in any of my ongoing awards!
despite wanting to do otherwise, i regretfully have to inform you that the Face Mini Awards and The Gay AF Awards are discontinued. i have several reasons for taking this step, plus i've been thinking about beginning 2026 with a fresher mindset, so here it is: the awards have impacted me very negatively. Face was my first book-related contest, and it is safe to say every single time i have posted results, as well as have begun the judging process, i have destroyed my mental health completely. not to name-call anyone or anything, but behind the scenes? there has been a lot. and every category that got judged gave me nothing but unnecessary troubles in return.
and it is, in fact, highly demotivating to see Face not go smoothly at all. i have talked to other judges while i was in the process of reviewing too, and i was assured that i am not lacking anything on my part. therefore, this decision is made more out of necessicity than anything else.
thus, i have no time or energy to spend on anything which will overall impact me terribly. i have taken a step to get professional help, and i don't want to have a part of my brain nagging at me for not working on the reviews. i have a lot of exams and other things going on in my personal life too, and i wish to keep my energy preserved in 2026. so i simply cannot afford all that drama all over again, be it for Face or Gay AF awards.
all the participants who DID NOT get their reviews or their categories judged can revoke the payments they had done if they wish to. i deeply apologize for the inconvenience.
i sincerely thank everyone for being patient and understanding.
p.s. i will make a similar post in both award books in case anyone misses this.
