Bulletpoints:
- What you do and how you act does not dictate your true nature.
- What you wear and how you wear it does not dictate how you natural are.
- what you say and how you say it does not dictate your true personality.
- No need to force a laugh, no need to believe you need to act a certain way to get someone to notice you, no need to try to be someone so hard that you forget who you naturally are, no need to try to act/be a certain way to fill a certain expectation regardless of whose expectation it is.
Sometimes we're so caught up in trying to catch someone/something's attention or trying to fill a certain expectation or goal that we end up forgetting our true nature and suddenly we don't recognize ourselves anymore. As in, had we not tried so hard to follow a certain expectation of ourselves, who would we be? How would the personality, that we were born with, have made us act? What kind of slang would we have spoken with? What kind of person would we have been?
It may seem like it's too late to start finding your true, natural self again, but it's actually not. I'm a junior in high school and I'm just now starting the struggle of trying to find my true self because I spent so long trying to fit into a category, actually believing that, that was how I naturally way. So I kept telling myself, be proud of this, you're supposed to fit in this category. When in reality, I was being proud of a fake personality I made up for myself accidentally. It does happen, but it's fixable. It's never too late to break those bad habits and create new ones to help you find your true nature.
