Just checking around and reading some magic/fantasy-meets-modern stories. Something of a simple pleasure, but easy to digest.

Started reading for the modern curb-stomping, stayed for the world-building analysis, settled for paying attention to creative story-writing details, and persisting to this day with a greater focus on excellency in this niche writing genre. Alot of people got stuck on the chest-beating, ultra-nationalism and reveling in some "Geneva checklist"-esque backsliding, since a quick-burning, dopamine-inducing one-sided slaughter fest is easier to enjoy (reading AND writing) than an almost equally-uninteresting story where they cope, seethe, and mald about humanitarian issues, agendas, and civil liberties.

Long-story-short, I'm only a lurker, so I won't help with any of these stories beyond commenting bits of advice from stuff I pick up on. I try not to be harsh on the author(s), but I'll point out something obvious if it really bothers me.
