So my 3 Nirashiya readers don't starve before winter Nirashiya week (bc I know I sure am starved of nishiya rn), have a preview of my fic for Day1
Everything in Chishiya's body hurts. Not that he lets it show on his face.
Even now, bleeding out with Niragi on the cold asphalt after spilling their guts out both literally and metaphorically, showing pain would be too... vulnerable, even though in Chishiya's opinion as a medical professional, both of them would bleed out soon.
It's... peaceful, somehow, hearing Niragi's rhythmic rattling breaths and the light rain as the typhoon calms down around them.
Chishiya looks towards where Niragi is a few meters away and finds him staring back, as if trying to see into his soul.
It must be pure spite keeping Niragi's eyes open, because his wounds are worse than Chishiya's, and he's already feeling the exhaustion from the blood loss pulling at his eyelids.
That will to live in those dark eyes, Chishiya thinks, is what separates them. Makes them reflections of each other instead of twin drops of water.
Chishiya has the urge to say something to his reflection as they lay dying, but he's not quite sure what.
"Niragi..." he trails off, words and even thoughts hard to form through the injuries.
"See you in hell." Niragi manages to choke out.
Chishiya... smiles. A real smile, not a smirk full of condescension like usual. Probably his first real smile in all his life.
He knows what to say now. You're not alone. But the words won't come out. He thinks Niragi hears it anyway by the exhausted smile he manages to give back.
I understand you. Chishiya hears in Niragi's eyes and smile.
Neither of them can form words anymore. Niragi's eyes stay open through sheer willpower as they become unfocused and his breaths slow.
As the sunset tints everything red, Niragi's breaths stop and his eyes become glassy.
Chishiya lets his eyes close as he gets pulled into the darkness, knowing neither of them believed in an afterlife.
