Rewatchig Gilmore girls and realising Emily and Lorealil are very similar....
          
          
          Emily was overbearing in an obvious way, pressizing Loreali to fit into the rich life style 
          Loreali was overbearing in and encouraging way..it's hidden behind sweet words... Always putting Rory on a pedestal, patting her on the back and never holding her accountable for her flaws...and Rory had flaws, even Chilton Rory 
          
          "You can do anything, you are perfect little Rory!" 
          
          Loreali was also obsessed with having the perfect daughter BUT she wanted a perfect daughter by doing the exact opposite her parent did...it was the perfect 'I win,'  situation for Loreali
          
          Cut to Rory's internship and 'perfect little Rory' realizes that the real world doesn't encourage the way her family does...result = a meltdown, wanting to drop out/take gap year.... Loreali doesn't like that...
          
          The minute Rory didn't fit her perfect imagine Loreali always encouraged Loreali stopped talking to Rory...giving her an ultimatum wanting Rory to do something...but girl needed to breath...Loreali didn't like that...She is the reason her daughter wasn't ready for the real world and she didn't like the end result...a confused Rory
          
          I know it was done to add drama but it showed me that Lorealil is alot like  Emily even if she doesn't want to admit it...
          
          Keep in mind, they only started talking again when Rory went back to the journalism dream and fit into Loreali's dream of having the perfect daughter 
          
          I also took a gap year, it's not 'the end of the world ' as Loreali imagined it..my parents didn't cut me off or stop talking to me...they were my parents not my obsessed friends
