The second chapter for Dom is up, and I've hit the 2k milestone!!
"There’s a poetry reading going on. Dominic is our resident Shakespeare. Do you like poetry?”
For the first time in ages, Belle smiled. “Some people’s first love was Scott Baio or Ziggy Stardust; mine was Edgar Allan Poe. His poetry decorated my walls up until I moved out of my parents’ place.”
“Rad! Then you’ll have to stay and listen to Dom. His work is dark but sexy too, yanno?” The waitress pointed to a young man who had just walked out of the men’s room and was heading to the bar. “That’s him over there. His talent is insane.”
Through the veil of smoke, Belle caught sight of Dominic.
Clad in low-rise jeans and a belt buckle with a silver cross. His top was black, snug, and transparent enough to be indecent anywhere but here. A sleeve tattoo slithered up his left arm, and his right was decorated by an array of smaller designs. Long, lean hands ended up in black-painted nails.
When he turned to laugh at something, the person standing next to him said, the air from Belle’s lungs vanished. His face was porcelain fine. Inky hair fell over electric blue eyes rimmed in kohl. Dominic’s lips were full, erotic, lush. When he placed a cigarette between them, everything around Isabelle exploded in bright light.
“Forget the beer,” Isabelle spoke, although she wasn’t sure it was her voice.
“I’ll have the drink you suggested.”
“Fantastic.” The waitress smiled brightly. “You won’t regret it.”
Smoke circled Dominic like a crooked halo. He tipped his head back, closed his lips, and exhaled as the night kissed him. Around him, people spoke, but when he bowed his head and opened his eyes, his gaze moved to a collection of paper in his grasp.
Isabelle did not know where the demanding desire to keep staring at him came from. She could not look away. She didn’t want to. She wanted him plastered on her wall. Over her bed. Taking over Poe.
