10: This one isnāt characterisation, but instead music. In Twilight Princess, the Heroās Shadeās theme (whom is implied to be the Hero of Time based off in game dialogue) has a sort of trumpet in the middle. I believe that itās a similar sound to Skull Kidās horn in Twilight Princess.
Another music cameo is the Hyrule Field night theme. There is a sound byte that sounds the exact same as Malonās singing from Ocarina of Time. (Instead of Eponaās Song, itās notes that eerily remind me of the OoT title theme)

@HylianGuard yep! The āsunās songā (basically the āits morning nowā song) plays before the Twilight Princess field theme plays. Love that.

9: Ganondorf wasnāt born evil, of course. Just like Link and Zelda, he was dragged into his life he likely didnāt want. He wasnāt completely evil, but likely Koume and Kotake brainwashed him growing up.
OcarinaOfAngst
@HylianGuard yeah I know. Iāve played nearly all the games. But just because Ganondorf was born into evil because the curse doesnāt mean he was from the beginning, no child is born wanting evil.

8: Malon uses singing as a coping mechanism. In the child timeline, she sings at night at a Castle Town Market. Sheās alone, and a child. Sheās scared, so she sings. In the adult timeline, prior to Ingoās defeat in rescuing Epona, she only sang at night Iām the corral. She doesnāt want Ingo to know sheās singing.
Once you save Epona, she sings all the time. Itās no longer really a coping thing, instead, itās a symbol of freedom and hope. At least thatās how I view it.

7: This one isnāt Link cantered, but instead Sheik.
Sheik slowly opens up to Link more throughout the game. After each dungeon, he takes more time to leave, grows more casual with what he says, and doesnāt distance himself as much towards the game. Itās is something a lot of people ignore, and it saddens me.
He doesnāt immediately open up, nor does he not make any progress at all.
I think the post dungeon cutscene where Sheik finally let go was after the Water Temple. As the cutscene where you learn the Nocturne of Shadow is a lot more casual than the others.

6: though it doesnāt happen in game, thereās no way Link immediately mastered everything, the game makes it clear through text that you shouldnāt have mastered everything straight away. Whether it be the Great Deku Tree asking you if youāre sure youāre ready, or Ingo ālettingā you practice riding until youāre ready to race him.
Be sure to remember this! Link didnāt know how to wield a sword or ride a horse. Or shoot a bow immediately. Practice and failure is valid :)
OcarinaOfAngst
@HylianGuard yeah, Iāve just read a lot of fics where heāll find a weapon and know immediately how to use it. Or with Epona, for example.

Video game mechanics, what can you do? Like, how does he instantly shoot with perfect accuracy when obtaining the bow for the first time? Ive always wanted a game where you become more skillful as you use each new weapon or do new activities

5: Link isnāt an aggressive child. Heās a very quiet boy who takes a bit of time to open up to people, but when he does, he gets very excited. When Mido picks on him, he doesnāt resort to āviolenceā unless heās defending someone else or if it was a more serious thing. If Mido is just teasing, heād just ignore him, but if Mido got up in his face, heād probably argue or fight back.
And then heād get blamed by the other Kokiri, unfortunately. They pretty much all side with Mido.

4: Since heās young, Link doesnāt quite understand his emotions. It may seem like heās good at controlling them, but in truth he demonstrated understand what they are to begin with. This leads to him being confused when heās upset about loss; he doesnāt know what it is heās feeling.

3: Link doesnāt hate Navi. He deeply cares for her. He doesnāt find her annoying (even if the fans do), and her departure hurt him deeply.
OcarinaOfAngst
2: Link is allowed to act like a kid. Even in the adult timeline, he still has the mind of a child. Even if it slowly fades over time, itās still there, and always will be. This doesnāt mean he acts like a brat, though.
