I write because of what I don't understand, of what I can't control. The roller coasters I am always on, the flights that never land, the waves that continuously pull me in. I write because when I look at a bird, I see freedom. When I see the ocean, I see eternity. And when I look at the sky, I see what's beyond. Because maybe my imaginary friend is real after all, and maybe the Hogwarts Letter I have been waiting for has finally arrived. I write because why should I live in a reality shaped up by 'science' when I could live in a world filled with magic and beliefs?
The words I write are a way for me to lose myself in multiple fantasies, a way for me to be in control; I can make this happen whenever wherever. Why should I be a mundane when I can be extraordinary? Why let grass stay green when it can be multi-colored? Who said the sky is the limit? And who said magic does not exist? And what's better than an eternal happy ending?
I get to choose the ending I want, I could shape up a character's life. And maybe I could give them the life I always wanted. Because when I am a silhouette in reality, I become iridescent in stories.
