Question kids... Does anyone has any tips on how to get more feedback on my writing?? I would really appreciate it thanks :) Happy New Year!!

@OdetteKates Yes, book clubs are the best way to get quality feedback. Of the ones I listed, I've only been involved with The Next Big Recognition. That one was really time-consuming and so I didn't get any actual writing done. :-) I've taken a break from it so I can finish "The Marvels." Then I plan to try one of the other book clubs, since those pair you up with someone who reads your novel while you read theirs. You get weekly feedback from someone who follows your story from start to finish.

NBR is great for problematic chapters and getting a wide variety of opinions. I also found just reading the comments and reviews on other people's chapters helped me see some writing mistakes of my own. Even before my chapter came up for review (about 3 months after I joined) my writing had improved from my soaking up the collective knowledge. :D

@PrairieCreek thank you so much for your input. It gets frustrating when you want to know what others think of your work. I'll be sure to look at some book clubs

I have found the best way to get noticed/reads is to enter contests. You usually don't know *who* is reading because judges don't generally comment or vote, but at least you get a few reads that way. Often the contest will add your book to a reading list; that helps, too. Sometimes the contest will post a list of all the entries. After a while your book/author name will get familiar to others who enter contests and they might decide to check out your book.

Another way to get noticed is join a book club in which you read other books & give feedback in exchange for the same on yours. This is most helpful, because you find out what might be turning readers off (bad grammar, cliched story, boring characters, etc.)

Some book clubs to check out:

hello friends, I'm sorry I haven't written anything new in a while. My heart has been hurting and I haven't been able to function well. Soon I'll be posting a new chapter for Fat Chance and adding some old work to Whiskey Grins. Please know all your votes and comments have meant the world to me in my little piece I inhabit. xoxox Odette
