Hats off to all writers who have written so many stories.
Now that I'm writing my own books, I'm starting to understand the amount of imagination, frustration, happiness, and patience it takes to create a story. It has made me appreciate writers so much more.
A special salute to writers who work with canon stories and canon characters. I've realized how difficult it is to keep a character true to their original personality while also molding them to fit your own version of the story.
I have two books—one with mostly original characters and one with canon characters. Surprisingly, writing the original characters was easier for me. When they're your own characters, you know exactly how they think. With canon characters, you're constantly trying to stay true to who they are while telling a new story.
Writing has given me a whole new respect for every author out there.
