for some time now, I have been silent regarding the Israel/Palestine conflict on WP, mainly because I felt like I heavily lacked the education to really speak out. I didn't feel comfortable being a point of contact for opinions or resources, because my own ignorance made me realize how little I understood Palestine history.

let me make one thing clear - I have always been against settler-colonialism, imperialism and assimilation. I have always been against ethnic states, militarism, and authoritarian regimes. however, being american, our taught ideas of those concepts is heavily biased, rooted in our own involvement overseas and hardly extends beyond the ways we implemented those practices in on our soil. I recognize how fucked this is, and how privilege has influenced my lack of understanding of global politics, living blissfully unaware of what goes on outside of our large boarder.

that being said, within the last few months, I have been trying to fully grasp Palestine's history the best I can, in order to support their cause and stand in solidarity. I am against Israel. I am against their violence, their brutal methods of oppression and misrepresentative history. but most of all, I am against genocide.

I am trying to do better. I owe it to my Palestinian -American friends and their families. I owe it to my Palestinian readers and followers. I owe it to all those being ripped apart from their homes and from their country; for the men, women and children being massacred on the streets for their beliefs.

          	I stand with Palestine.

I stand with Palestine as well, having looked up what has happened previously with them and realizing it’s been going on for A LOT more than I previously thought. I’ve stood with Palestine since 2021 when I first found out about the conflict. So sad to see what the Israeli government has made the true Jewish people out to be, because the Jewish people I know would never condone any violence, and especially hurting and k*ll*ng children.

i went to chicago this past week and was channeling auden and cillian the whole time. went to the art institute and was “omg this is from-“ and then had to stop myself cause referencing a fanfic (no matter how awesome it is) in public around your family is pretty cray cray.

sometimes I can’t help but feel like the events that take place in the light within you (iykyk) hurt my readership because the topics/decisions are controversial. it sucks — especially when reading the intro and seeing the word “infidelity” and immediately turning away.

I wish it wasn’t so surface level. I appreciate all of my support, in any given form & I understand how touchy topics can be hard to read. it makes me sad tho that there’s over half the amount of reads for book two when it’s the one I am the most proud of. every character, event, detail is so much more fleshed out and presented on such a raw platform and I want all my readers to experience that. idk, maybe i’m over thinking it. it’s so hard not to let one critique bother you against hundreds of positive ones

I definitely meant “only half the amount of reads” - but you get my drift

I was listening to Fallen Angel by Three Days Grace and it reminds me of Auden and Cillian. Especially these lines:

          I was right beside you
When you went to hell and back again
          And I couldn't save a fallen angel

Haven't gotten around to reading all of book 2 that has been posted but the chapters I am on are going around a similar theme.
