Jungwon made it so explicit that he wants us to move on, but people are still blaming Belift for forcing him. I don’t agree with the way Belift has gone about this transition (as said in my previous post about this) but everything that Jungwon was saying is true.

As someone who has followed kpop for over 7 years, the disputes between fans of the same fandom have never been greater, and it’s obvious Jungwon doesn’t want to see his community deteriorating like this. By putting out this statement, he is taking the chance that many people will stop being engenes for OUR sake. So that WE stop the infighting. Why can’t so many people see that Jungwon is incredibly brave to be doing this?

I saw a comment on a tiktok saying that someone can’t find comfort in Enhypen anymore. It’s great if your idol gives you comfort or keeps you going in hard times, but we have to remember that our idols don’t owe us anything. At this point, Enhypen has gone through a change, and we should’ve been there to support them through this. At the end of the day, our idols are not our friends and are not there to perform (outside of the stage) like puppets for our sake. They are artists and sometimes people forget the fact that they are here to perform their music. I supported heeseung from the start because I think that most of the idols have forgotten what it is like to have that passion for music and performing. I understand wanting to hold on to good memories, but I think that this change will teach many engenes how to move on. We can’t stay the same forever, and neither can Enhypen.

I said in my last post that I don’t know if I will ever get clarity, but I am going to take Jungwon’s statement as his own words and will no longer comment further on this situation unless something changes dramatically. I will be supporting Enhypen and I will be supporting Evan. I hope many of you do the same and learn that change doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

@OnionElephant OMG YES!! I don't really get how the fans pretended to be blind when Jungwon and Jay spoke subtly before, and even now that he spoke clearly they're saying he's forced. It feels like some sort of self manipulation. I really hope they would just support Enhypen as they are and Evan individually and respect them both.

My perspective on Evan's situation, because I haven't expressed my real opinion yet:

I enjoyed ride or die and overflow. I will support Evan in his solo career. What I've been seeing on tiktok about his solo debut is really disappointing tbh. I've seen so many so-called engenes saying that ride or die isn't a good song, but recently the k-pop industry has been saturated with generated, repetitive, soulless music. I've read the interviews that Evan has had with weverse magazine, rolling stone, etc., and it seems like Heeseung has put a lot of care into the music he is making. It's completely fine to not enjoy a song, but going online to hate is really a waste of time. He has the courage to go out and try something new in the monstrous industry that K-pop is. Whether the music is good or not, I want to support someone who is trying to make a difference in his career.

Still, I want to make it clear that the way belift is going about this transition is absolute shit. Enhypen has gone through SO many absolutely horrible experiences, and I felt that, even before Heeseung left, they weren't able to really show their true selves the way that other groups can (TXT, Seventeen, Twice). The Enhypen members should not have pretend like Heeseung doesn't exist. I can't speak for what the members feel, but if they supported his solo debut, they should be able to support it publicly too. If Yeonjun left TXT for his solo debut (which I know he wouldn't do), the other members would absolutely be happy for him and support him on their social media. I just can't understand why belift won't allow them to interact, because it's just making the fans go against each other. What kind of a company forces its own group's fans to turn against each other when we know this isn't what any of the members wanted? Why would belift not allow the members of Enhypen to make a statement saying that they openly support his career? Why are they estranging these two worlds as if they didn't exist together? I can't help but feel sorry that both Enhypen and Evan can't express their true feelings. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the situation, and it doesn't feel like I'll ever truly understand it. I hope that some clarity will come in the future, and they will both be able to support each other openly in the future.

Happy birthday to Sunoo and congratulations to Evan on his solo debut! I'm working on another chapter of memories, so look forward to that! Pls feel free to share your perspectives on this situation <333

Hey guys quick life update,

I’ve honestly been constantly stressed and anxious since August and it’s only gotten worse with the holiday season coming, which is why I haven’t been posting as much. I promise I’m still planning on finishing memories, even if I’ve been so busy I barely remember to do any writing. I’m taking a break for a whole week starting tomorrow and I’ll be off-the-grid spending time with my family. I hope to get in some quality writing time where I won’t have to worry about all my other activities. Maybe expect a chapter possibly after this week(?). I love you guys and this community and I just felt like sharing someplace where I know I won’t be judged<333

Happy holidays or whatever you celebrate during this time of year!
