Welcome to the ONC

Once again, we had come to the end of another ONC season. Thank you to all those who participated and shared their stories. 

This profile will now go into hibernation during the ONC off-season. This means we will no longer actively monitor this profile. We'll return in January 2026 to share the guidelines.

The ONC will officially kick off on the first of February 2026.

What is the Open Novella Contest?

The goal of the Open Novella Contest is to challenge participants to write a novella between 20,000 and 40,000 words in twelve (12) weeks. Participants can enter the contest by writing their novella using one of the many prompts.
